Last night, we had another great workshop at the Food Health and Safety Compliance/Business Start-Up Workshop.
The first part of the workshop was facilitated by Accountant, Melesisi from @oyonnx.
Melesisi presented on the Dos and Don’ts when starting your Business journey.
- Do create a forecast
- Do deduct for tax from day one
- Do separate accounts for personal and business
- Do make relationships
- Don’t be afraid to ask
- Don’t register for GST until needed
- Don’t lose your records
- Don’t be late for anything
The next part of the workshop was facilitated by Amy from Waikirikau Fermented Tea. Amy shared her journey from when she started her business to now. She had a lot in common with our clients as she had to also apply for Food Health and Safety compliance. Being in the food industry and the challenges she encountered with this.
The last part of the Workshop we looked at some more compliance correctives.
Our participants are working through workshops to enable them to start their:
- Catering Businesses/Cafes
- We are assisting them with Registration Process
- FCP Documentation
- Coaching on Legal Obligations under the Food Act 2014
- Correct Record Keeping
- Support and Consultancy through the Council Verification Audit Process
