The Waikato Pacific Business Network (WBPN) launched on the 1st May 2018 with the vision to build more sustainable and profitable pacific owned businesses; whilst developing pacific professionals in the Waikato region.
Our members consist of all sectors throughout the Waikato region ranging from enterprise, to small-medium sized businesses, to large scale corporations and local government agencies, ITO’s, tertiary institutions and business professionals. We aim to “Connect, Share and Empower” our members by organizing networking events, bi-monthly newsletters and members’ evenings. We provide an environment where knowledge is shared and business connections are made.
With Pacific people making up 30% of the Waikato population and still growing today; the Network provides a platform, service, connections and tools for Pacific businesses and professionals to utilize and prosper.
Other objectives the Waikato Pacific Business Network seek to achieve are:
- To work collaboratively with all sectors;
- To advise local government and Iwi on matters pertaining to Pacific economic and social development;
- To advise the members of the Network on marketplace opportunities domestically and internationally arising from the pursuit of Pacific enterprise and business in the Waikato region and New Zealand;
- To ensure effective policy advocacy through our membership network
