It was amazing to attend the Tupu Aotearoa Launch to promote the program and recognize the official suppliers of the program for each Region.

Tupu Aotearoa is an initiative by the Ministry of Pacific Peoples to help Pacific people between the ages of 15 to 39 into meaningful employment and/or further education. The overall focus of this program is to up skill Pacific people and assist them into sustainable pathways; by taking a holistic approach to include their daily lifestyle to ensure they succeed.

We also had the pleasure of listening to Minister Aupito William Sio who further explained the importance of the program and the benefit its will have in creating a strong foundation for our Pacific people to build on.

A former student of the program from In Work also shared her journey through Tupu Aotearoa, formally known as Pacific Employment Support Services (PESS), and the positive result she gained by securing long-term employment to support her family.

With the Wellbeing Budget allocating $14.5 million to extend the program into the Regions; seven organisations have been approved to provide this support in Manawatū-Whanganui, Bay of Plenty and Waikato. We would also like to acknowledge two of our members; Alignz Recruitment and Kaute Pacifika for becoming the official new Program Suppliers in the Waikato Region. Congratulations and we wish you all the best.

If you would like to know more about the program, please contact our members direct on Alignz Recruitment on 078552743 or Kaute Pacifika on 078341482.
