Last Wednesday we invited the Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Carmel Sepuloni MP and Hon. Barbara Edmonds MP, the Minister for Pacific Peoples and Economic Development, to attend our business luncheon with our community of networks across the Waikato. Both senior Cabinet Ministers shared what’s in store for Post-Budget 2023.
Minister Hon. Barbara Edmonds did an exceptional job in talking through the key areas of the budget relevant for Pacific to a full house of close to 100 people who were Waikato Pacific business owners, community leaders and our key stakeholders. The opportunities Budget 2023 have is targeted towards existing and potential initiatives for Pacific communities to succeed across education, economic development, employment, business, housing, language skills, and culture.
We appreciate the support of our very own Pacific-owned businesses, PCM Consulting Ltd, for contributing to our event, and Euodias Painting for the beautiful Kahoa leis gifted to our Ministers. We would like to thank NZ’s Deputy Prime Minister Sepuloni and senior Minister Edmonds for accepting our invitation to visit to meet and “talanoa” with our communities in the Mighty Waikato. Finally, we would like to thank everyone who attended our business luncheon – we are stronger together across our Waikato Pacific Business Village and our Waikato Economic Development Hub.
